Not again! Is Daylight Saving Time Unhealthy? Character: Oh, man! It’s daylight saving time again! So annoying! I’m always so tired afterward! Soph: You’re not alone with that! In 2018, the European Commission surveyed 4.6 million Europeans. 84% wanted it abolished. The Commission then submitted a proposal. The EU Parliament even voted in favor of it in 2019. Character: Then why is it still around? It’s been a while already! (In the background, with an arrow: At time of publishing this comic: Oct. 2026) Soph: Correct. Now the Council of the European Union would have to approve it. It hasn’t yet, because the EU member states have not agreed on how to coordinate the time zones. Character: Wow! Soph: Other countries are already further along with this; e.g., Mexico abolished daylight saving time back in 2022. Character: And why does this even exist?
