The actual technology was "Caesar" which was a digital successor to Scanimate. It's really rare to see examples of cartoons made with it since it never really commercially took off.

AHHH! The Multidimensional VOP is finally revived!
This animation is made with 3 exposures and one PNG put through 5 keyframes in the VOP prototype.
The keyframing is so far linear. But it'll have to do for now. I have other things I want to add to the prototype.

Scanimate was an anlogue motion graphics system, popular in the 1970s, and responsible for a specific aesthetic now lost to time.

Here's a video of a Scooby-Doo episode being created on a scanimate computer. This is considered to be the EARLIEST form of bone-rigged/puppet animation, decades before Flash and Toon Boom were created.
