Ooof, I feel for you! My dog isn’t a bc but she plays one on tv. Sniffing games help a ton. When she had surgery recently I’d scatter feed every meal. Throw treats one at a time in the grass for hunting. Scentwork class and practice. And grant yourself all the grace! Its lucky they’re so cute 🥰

Timber found an owl pellet on our morning walk. He found one back during our first summer here. This was such a fun enrichment walk 💗 I love when we can here the owl in the trees at night.

My Golden chewed the couch after 90-min walks. Then I tried 10 minutes of scent games.
He finally settled. Scent trailing around the house = mental workout that tires them out. Full guide:

That's so fair lmaooo he definitely chooses when to listen and we do! He developed an overbite but if it corrects itself we'll do conformation for a bit to try it out! He might go to his breeder to finish though. Sports wise were at least doing barnhunt, scentwork and fastcat!

OMG Watrle Park Chalet burned down. That’s where I do Mabel’s scentwork, we always did searches around it.

Ojej! Bobby pal! That is too bad! We have read the news only now. But you know what? It is a great opportunity to try scentwork - will keep your mind away from mischief and it is so much fun! And you get treats too!

Andie's scentwork trainer has a very fresh baby beagle named Lenny, which I'm very pleased by because it's close to what I've been calling him since the first photo I saw, "Lefty" bc he was on the left with great eyebrows

It's been too hot to take trout anywhere and it's rly reflecting in his behavior 😭 I really should just get a scentwork kit and stop putting it off it'd be fantastic indoor enrichment. training, playing and food based enrichment only gets us so far

We’ve been working on close hides and moving on from found hides without going back. I think our hard work is paying off! She crushed it in the search! #nosework #scentwork #dogs #dogsports #bordercollies

Otter’s doing such a great job with his scent training! I love his confidence moving through the space, his detailing on the objects near the hide, and his clear understanding of working back to source! Week 4 birch. Part 1

Training for this week: Are toys distracting for Tracer while she’s searching? No, because she has more value for the hunt than for the toys on the ground. This is what odor obedience looks like. #nosework #scentwork #toyreward #dogs #dogsports #nacsw #bordercollies

Scentwork class with the fam.
We went to Mabel’s scentwork this morning. she absolutely smashed it. it was easier searches than she usually does as it’s not our normal class, but it’s the level she’d be doing at a trial. she was doing the whole search in under a minute. almost makes me wanna trial again

We skipped out on Mabel’s scentwork as we were out all day and had only been home half an hour. I tried to put Tilly in the car seat to drive to Wattle Park and she lost her shit and I was like oh I am cutting this off at the pass. no way she’d have stood for hours of driving and pram

We went to Mabel’s scentwork. Mabel was soooo happy and keen. Tilly started giggling at Mabel doing searches. So nice to have everyone happy!

I made an executive call not to go to scentwork tonight as it’s drizzling and Matilda is still sick. I’m so glad I did, she’s been asleep on me for an hour and I’m watching The Devil Wears Prada. i really need the downtime too

We tried to do way too much today. I went to a cafe after swimming, then to the optician, then we rushed home and I drove to camberwell to do mabel’s scentwork. Tilly had absolutely HAD IT on the drive home. Screamed for the entire drive. bad call by me to try to do all that.
