Dr Winn. Even here in the US, where cervical cancer deaths are rare (2.7/100000), in a predominantly Puerto Rican neighborhood in Chicago, the death rate is double that. The problem isn’t lack of tech or treatment, the problem is getting tech and treatment to everyone. #schd19

Like those of us with metastatic cancers living longer, those living with AIDS are having to deal with accelerated aging due to treatment , plus they’re developing non-AIDS related cancers a but are less likely to be offered treatment #schd19

.@gary_lyman talking about biosimilar at #schd19. Biosimilar are expected to decrease drug costs. The first biosimilar for Trastuzumab was approved 12/2017 but it not yet available to patients. Sigh 😔

If biosimilars are supposed to lead to decreased drug costs, why is the filgrastim biosimilar (Zarxio) more expensive than the original (neupogen)? #schd19
