Your article reported on a similar invasion of over 20 soldiers and other armed federal law enforcement (also with Park Police air support) outside Bard HS, but failed to mention several other elementary schools targeted by Guard, including Wheatley, Harriet Tubman, and Malcolm X to name a few.

Schools always insist that “frats will just move off campus,” as if that’s an unavoidable problem. Schools have every right to expel every student who joins an off-campus fraternity.

Anybody that's been to a school with "off campus" frats knowns that basically the school is just trying to absolve themselves of culpability while doing nothing with regards to the threats posed to their students. The only thing that works in this situation is removing offenders from the community.
This is exactly right.
A temporary suspension on fraternity parties doesn’t offer survivors a damn thing.
If anything, it will just create a more hostile environment for women. Especially since the next year will be full of conversations about how important it is to preserve frats.

- Wheatley in Trinidad
- Malcolm X in Congress Heights
- Tubman in Columbia Heights
Failing to mention them makes the problem of military outside schools seem much smaller. The scale is so alarming!

First, the draft I submitted named several additional schools where heavily-armed National Guard soldiers have massed in alarming numbers.
I specifically named those schools & called out WaPo for failing to mention them. But editors decided to double down on their omission by cutting it again 🤯 2/

Gen Z is a much smaller generation than millennials. A lot of non-elite schools are closing down student housing. They aren’t building new dorms.
