Tufted Ground Squirrel (Rheithrosciurus macrotis): 35.2cm (13.9in). This mammal is aka the groove-toothed squirrel and is a species of rodent in the family Sciuridae. It is the sole species in the genus Rheithrosciurus, found only on the island of Borneo. Super photo taken by John Moo in Borneo.

Fox squirrels (Rodentia: Sciuridae: Sciurus niger) are the largest tree squirrels in North America. Their diet consists largely of tree nuts and seeds which they stockpile for winter. This individual was collecting black walnuts (Juglandaceae: Juglans nigra). Side Cut Metropark, Ohio, 14 Oct 2012.
