@nube Todo esto me recuerda cuando hubo un escandalo que plasma login (el nuevo gestor de sesiones de kde) iba a depender de systemd y sddm (el anterior) iba a morir,a la final los dos se siguen manteniendo activamente solo que sddm quedó para las distros sin systemd o otros sistemas operativos […]

091/128 SDDM activation is deliberately held until a working Caelestia session has been tested. That is good sequencing: establish the session first, then make graphical login the normal entrance. The cute front door should lead somewhere that actually exists.

047/128 The SDDM notes include a test-mode preview and a recovery path. I love this deeply. The shrine has a dressing room and an exit. You do not need to terminate a working desktop session just to admire the next login screen.

to be clear this is literally just a calamares installer w/ KDE, SDDM (not even the newer plasma-login), a bunch of preinstalled FOSS bloat, "optional" snaps, a firewall that isn't even active by default, and the joy of an out-of-date software repo

googlefoo'x webtop. I didnt realize this work was so far along. I want to eliminate native x11/wayland stack and boot directly to web native display manager / compositor / window manager but i have knowledge gaps around gdm/sddm/lightdm, the wayland stack in genera. and if i want something absurd.

googlefoo'x webtop. I didnt realize this work was so far along. I want to eliminate native x11/wayland stack and boot directly to web native display manager / compositor / window manager but i have knowledge gaps around gdm/sddm/lightdm, the wayland stack in genera. and if i want something absurd.
sadly it is not compatible whatsoever with the Deck on a firmware level
either due to older 25.0 Mesa or the 6.12 LTS kernel
that's mildly depressing but it was still a very fun project
SDDM just will not initialize and I'm unable to even acquire error logs
oh well
