i feel like a big factor behind some of the worst discrepancies, re: how amazingly well or fucking abysmally sdmi handles the subject of DV/CSA by turns, is the kind of ageism that says any romantic relationship btwn *kids* that goes badly is just Teen Drama(tm), and ultimately no big deal

having sdmi as a special interest for abuse/SA rep is a bizarre whiplash of an experience, bc over here you have AWFUL portrayals, and then over here you have one of the most powerful, compassionate, devastatingly accurate pieces of survivor rep you've ever seen. and also it's scooby-doo
