And still getting played at SDUC discos seven years later. So much better than anything they did subsequently. Mark Lamarr once made a joke about General Pinochet and Simple Minds both committing atrocities in stadiums. He wasn't always funny but he was bang on that time.

The band Ffa Coffi Pawb could’ve been… I feel privileged to have seen them under that name playing SDUC (or CPDS as they’d have called it) when they were my second favourite Welsh language band, after the mighty Tynal Tywyll.

This one totally passed me by in 1983, but five years later one of the DJs (Pete Hamill?) at the SDUC students union disco during Freshers Week played it and it absolutely blew my mind. The perfect crossover record between jazz dance, post punk and indie. You bet it got played at Blow Up.-
