Last year at the Emirates:

Arsenal 5 - 0 Leeds ❌

Nowhere to go but up.

A little #seasoncomparison checkpoint, 5 games in. #lufc

Yes I've been tracking that as well (click the #seasoncomparison tag to see the posts). But yes, different fixtures and that Arsenal match was a bit of an outlier last season.

Season comparison, part 5:

vs Crystal Palace
Last Year: 4-1 ✅
This Year: 0-0 ➖
Points Improvement: -2
Goal Diff Improvement: -3

Season tally:
Points Improvement: +4
Goal Diff Improvement: +6

Last year vs Palace:

Leeds 4 - 1 Palace ✅

First match of the season where we can't improve on the result (and likely not the goal diff, but you never know). So let's get 3 points and enjoy (however begrudgingly) the international break.

This Year: 4-1 ✅
Points Improvement: +2

Season tally:

Last time Newcastle visited Elland Road:

Leeds 0 - 0 Newcastle ➖

Only thing that stands out to me about this one was Woltemade sitting in the stands while the commentators wondered if he was Newcastle's savior. Safe to say he wasn't.

Another chance for an improved result.

Last time at the AmEx:

Brighton 3 - 0 Leeds

An opportunity to improve on last season's result. Failing that, it probably won't be any worse 🤞
