Some people just have seaxes to grind.

Bit of a mixed bag this week! A batch of assorted tiny rondels, seaxes and a messer, then this carved obsidian and bone monstrosity work in progress thingy. Always nice to have some variety!

It will probably have him all at Seaxes & Svens 🤷‍♂️
May 5, 2025 at 2:12 PM
Yes but now we won’t have to dodge the seaxes thrown at us.
February 7, 2025 at 5:46 PM
My question is: are there earlier examples of the flag featuring recognisable seaxes?

Hey Wülferhampton!!!

Grab your torches, pitchforks, seaxes and sprouts.

These johhny-come-latelies are claiming to be Bluesky’s first Mead Hall. They’re probably cream-firsters too.

There is also a lot of violent content involving expertly wielded seaxes and innocent musicians.

Immune to seaxes.

Top table male guests are to wear long-sleeved tunics and woollen trousers, and leave their seaxes at the door.

I’m relieved to see that seaxes is still allowed though.

Leaders can be very expensive, what with fancy helmets and hand- wrought seaxes…

Right, sword bearers sword scabbards cut down and glued so the sword isn’t in the scabbard and seaxes attached where absent to the fyrd types. How often do you thing about Alfred the Great?

And the command group, still need to add pouches and clean up some stuff but we have a full group of #Oldhammer inspired warriors ready to join the shield wall, with their great axes.

Coming up next; variants with spears and crook seaxes.

It's Wulfie. Of course it involves seaxes.

I wish I knew. I would be there to loot any leftover rat kebabs, flagons of mead and Mead Hall souvenir seaxes!
November 30, 2024 at 2:42 PM
I mean I would say they're seaxes but I don't want to be yeomansplaining things

We have swords and seaxes but you still have to prop up the regime, eh?

Especially after accidental wine

Lovely review of the husband @jamesbluecat.bsky.social's forthcoming debut alt-historical crime novel Pagans, which "has guns and seaxes, biographic tattoos and drone surveillance tech, ancient rituals and computer hackers." Available from 27th Feb, if that sounds like your kind of thing!
My long form review of James Alistair Henry's forthcoming Pagans from @moonflowerbooks.bsky.social is now up on Ko-Fi.

A very fun police procedural set in alternative modern-day Anglo-Saxon London. Full of great characters, historical & imaginative details - a great read!

it's also a bit weird for them to want to fly a flag with Arabian scimitars (rather than, say, Saxon seaxes)

Subtlety isn't your thing, really, is it? Seaxes are your thing, but never subtlety.

@theselectfyrd.bsky.social "Wulfhelm, Bardy on stage"
@wulfhelm.bsky.social "What do you mean Bardy on stage? Open fire. All seaxes. Dispatch Fyrdymobile to bring back his body"
The Banker "Bardy's alive?"
@meadhallwench.bsky.social"Bardy, I love you Bardy. But we only have 14 hours to free Mercia:"
I was told to bring the body back - scrub that-
