Taking mum out for brekkie & then to huge "discount" garden centre to buy bulbs.
Later need to pot on trays of seedlings - they're growing like mad in mild weather!

My grow mentor, ironically, still does dirt grows and seedlings.
Spider mites from an old bag of topsoil in his garage nearly wiped out his plants.
He's still dipping his clones.
Anyways, hydro, once set up and with some practice, is easy enough.
I use 3.5 gal. buckets and nets.

Very nice. I have some winter sown seedlings popping to get out of that jug and in the ground like NOW, Zone 5b, N. IL. Have similar shaded woody area but on north side. And, is yours dry-ish shade? Want to give them the best chance and will use more chopped fallen leaves to help them thru winter.

I've never heard them called a weed! When I find seedlings, I move them to a good spot or give them away.

i have also had good luck using Fox Farm soils. I use Happy Frog for the seedlings and when i transplant into 4 gallon fabric pots i will use Ocean Forest. Never had any issues other that one time the bag of Ocean Forest had those annoying gnats. I eradicated them using those yellow sticky traps.
