It's crazy that the most diverse city has the most segregated schools. www.nytimes.com/2026/11/02/n...
N.Y.C. Schools Are Deeply Segregated. These Students Demand Change.

(it is *intensely* gender segregated and it is also imo driving gender polarization)

the video based internet isn’t unsegregated but it is just about the *least* racially segregated social space that has ever existed

The American K-12 system is segregated.

Yes, the Civil Rights Acts got rid of legally enforced segregation, but it’s completely accurate to describe the 2026 public school system as “segregated” by most reasonable definitions of the word
To pass the time, we need to start Other Discourses.

What is your hottest take about the American K-12 education system?

I don't think MSNBC would give an interview to a Democrat who says Jews should be segregated or all Black people should lose their healthcare but idk maybe we'll get there soon

There's nowhere in the US, even in the reddest of red states, with anything like the UK's total sex-segregated spaces ban. And Britain has sex-segregated spaces that America doesn't! I don't think we really have sex-segregated hospital wards, for instance.

Now do segregated water fountains.

Buddy 60 years ago you would have been caping for race segregated sports

The real welfare queens find a way to siphon taxpayer dollars for bullshit establishments like Nouveau segregated schools.

Many of these people are still here walking the earth

George St, Edinburgh - 20+ years and construction not started. No trees, no segregated cycleways and asphalt over setts

George Sq, Glasgow - 5 years and almost complete. Refurbished with wall to wall natural stone, segregated cycleways and multiple trees.

Why are we so bad at this?

People seem oblivious to how recent all these things were. Segregated bathrooms and drinking fountains were still *legal* until 1964. I remember seeing them myself as a young child visiting Texas.

You don't just forget the things that have happened in this country. It's simply not possible.

Also like...a lot of segregated by sex sports, including many Olympic events, only started after the first women took first in mixed sex sports so uh...

That's an OPENER, and as we all know, they're pretty much universally lying about whether people like me should be segregated and denied live-saving care

Michigan was de facto segregated while we were growing up. Most Detroit suburbs did not begin to integrate until the 2000s. Parts of Michigan are still sundown…

Many white Michiganders felt that “we” ruined “their” city in 1967. That rhetoric shaped their Gen X kids. NYT/Siena poll is the result.

Oh the Federal Election Monitors are in the historically redlined and segregated parts of town? Must be a coincidence.
Live blog: Federal monitors have been seen at Metro Community College, according to the the Election Protection Coalition. Flatwater Free Press also confirmed federal monitors at Our Lady of Guadalupe Social Hall in South Omaha.

And trans people will die before we vote for candidates running on us being segregated or cut off from the lifesaving healthcare we NEED to LIVE.

I remember the segregated water fountains and washrooms in Jacksonville Florida. I was very little, but I remember

tbh most people define economic success as being a small business owner with a huge truck and a large single family home in a segregated neighborhood so I just don't know why I'm so engaged with politics lmao

Unfortunately I heard that that diner was also period-authentically segregated
November 3, 2026 at 3:15 PM
The UK is a segregated, fascist state.

It is actively killing trans people. At home. On the street. Left to die while in hospitals.

Anyone in the UK who doesn't agree is complicit in the genocide.

Being an ally is more than having your pronouns on your email signature at work!

It means standing up and saying something if a trans colleague is being mistreated, segregated or being pushed out.

Otherwise shut fo.

Potential issue I'm monitoring in Milwaukee: Ballot processing teams didn't write down poll list numbers on 242 ballots -- a requirement under state law for central count municipalities.

Unclear whether those ballots have been segregated or whether they'll be challenged.
