My plan is to self-publish Beastess once it's all written as just a PDF & EPUB, write & publish the second book I've been planning, come back to Beastess and do edits & revisions, then self-publish a "second edition" as a paperback (and updated digital files) if there's enough demand

By all accounts they publish excellent work by other people, but all of this--ALL of this--is about propping up the press owner and legitimizing her own work she self-publishes.
There is nothing wrong with a press publishing books by the owner--but not at the expense of others' livelihoods.
