No shade at all, they're great plants for insects and also surprisingly good eating. Plus good for cordage, if you ever want to make a traditional selfbow.

Absolutely. I garden stupid hot peppers and am working on my archery. Building a 11th C Yew selfbow from scratch. If I don't eff it up, should pull ~100lbs and be good for deer/moose. One's mind, like a garden, needs regular tending and weeding.

The bunnies in my garden, I consider produce, but I do whack them, turkey, and deer with a bow. Am building a selfbow. Never done that before and it frightens me, but fun to carve. I generally use compound bows but load and build rifles too. Not so much now: I prefer the quiet.
