Mammutbaum (Sequoiadendron giganteum) nicht im Nationalpark der kalifornischen Sierra Nevada (Westen der USA) sondern am Sensenstein in Nordhessen. Dort befinden sich die "Niester-Riesen", eine Gruppe exotischer Bäume, die im Jahr 1887 gepflanzt worden sind.

The avenue of giant redwood trees (that aren't that giant as they were only planted about 65 years ago). Sun is filtering through and the floor is littered with their soft brown needles.

Planted in the 1860s as a memorial to the Duke of Wellington. Wellingtonia Avenue - Crowthorne, England

The trees were actually called Wellingtonia at the time until science settled on Sequoiadendron giganteum
