Honestly I've come to think of serialised storytelling as more like seasons of TV, with each chapter as an episode
I point this out basically constantly in the Dorleycord writer-space
Just like
I write 3-4 thousand words chapters.
A Dorley book is not 1(one), it is actually about 7 to 8 novella attacked on top of each other.

There's something kind of magical about those serialised non-prestige TV shows of the 2000s where every episode is plot important but it has to fit 22 episodes so the pacing is glacial.
Then you have the half seasons from the writers strike where suddenly after 10 episodes it wraps up too quickly.
