This afternoon, top UN official in #Cyprus, Khassim Diagne, welcomed the Prime Minister of #Slovakia 🇸🇰, Robert Fico and his delegation to Ledra Palace Hotel. During the visit, the delegation also met some of the Slovak peacekeepers #serving4peace with #UNFICYP on the island. #A4P

Today #UNFICYP bids farewell to Major Ayesha Khan from #Pakistan 🇵🇰. Major Khan served for over a year in #Cyprus as a Military Public Information Officer and a focal point for uniformed women peacekeepers.

Today, 75 peacekeepers from 🇸🇰 Slovakia based in Sector 4 were awarded UN medals for their #service4peace in Cyprus.

Their responsibility is to patrol & monitor activity along 65 km of the #bufferzone on the east coast of the island. We thank them for their dedication and for #serving4peace. 🌍🕊️

This week, #UNFICYP peacekeepers welcomed to the UN Protected Area a group of 33 #UK 🇬🇧 parliamentarians. The group was briefed on the history of the old Nicosia airport and met with British peacekeepers #serving4peace in #Cyprus.
