The Sewaritei Embankment in Yawata City, Kyoto Prefecture, is a famous cherry blossom spot. Spanning 1.4 kilometers along the Kizu and Uji Rivers, it features around 220 Somei Yoshino cherry trees that form a stunning “sakura tunnel” in full bloom in early April.

The Sewaritei Cherry Blossom Walk, Yawata-shi, Kyoto 2026/3/29. It wasn't at full bloom yesterday but maybe all gone next weekend.
Much less crowded without all the mainland China tourists, allowing me to actually walk in a straight line rather walk a zigzag this year.

Off to Sewaritei today for more of this and damnation, I have lost my facemask. It was a beautiful mask from @camelliakyoto.bsky.social with white herons on it. It must have fallen from my pocket when I took my glasses out. I am gutted.
