In December there was a major blackout in San Francisco caused by a fire at a PG&E substation, while autonomous vehicles stalled traffic and disrupted emergency vehicle response.

Haven't seen news coverage of this, but based on @deanpreston.bsky.social's comments here, it seems the majority of the SFBOS voted to needlessly and prematurely agree to a settlement banning the city from ever doing a basic income program for trans people again?

I'm sure they're probably wildly overstating how socialist the "DSA aligned" councilors actually are, but it still sounds amazing compared to current SFBOS.

Hopefully, SFBOS will get Waymo to explain what happened and why they thought stuffing as many robots as possible on these public roads was a good idea.
We still don't know how much robot 0 (blue star in pic2 above) precipitated the gridlock vs cell problems vs just another very bad Waymo ops plan.

I just wrote letters to the SFBOS, the mayor and City Attorney requesting that his name be removed from the hospital. It’s shameful.
