Finally, for anyone looking for an estimate number to grab for the odds of finding a non-fixed shiny alpha, I made this small chart for you to reference! Just check on Serebii the rate at which your target spawns as an alpha, and look at the row for if you have charm or not! #shalphaweek 🧵 (5/5)
A chart titled "Pokémon Legends Z-A Shiny Alpha Rate" with the rows labeled "Full Odds" and "Charm" and the columns labeled by "Alpha Rate," being 1%, 5%, 10%, or 20%. The 1% column shows a 1 in 409600 chance of finding a shiny alpha Full Odds, with the Charm row reading N/A since the only 1% alpha rate spawns in Z-A are the fossils, which are locked to full-odds. The 5% column shows a 1 in 81920 chance of finding a shiny alpha full odds, with a 4 in 81920 or 1 in ~20480.38 chance of finding one with the shiny charm. The 10% column shows a 1 in 40960 chance of finding a shiny alpha full odds, with a 4 in 40960 or 1 in ~10240.38 chance of finding one with the shiny charm. The 20% column shows a 1 in 20480 chance of finding a shiny alpha full odds, with a 4 in 20480 or 1 in ~5120.38 chance of finding one with the shiny charm.

Again, these incredible graphics were made by @papajefe.bsky.social, his original twitter thread can be found here x.com/ItsPapaJefe/... and comprehensive video here youtu.be/q3K-58zrzkQ?...

Please make sure to give him support for his incredible research! #shalphaweek 🧵 (4/5)
A graphic by Papa Jefe detailing the second step of the "spawn overload" method in Z-A. It is titled "Step 2: Send The Signal," and shows an image of a red circle, the center of which is marked "Spawner," and a label of "~50 in-game units" along an arrow on the radius. Just outside of the circle is a charmander sprite, with an arrow pointing to a Pokemon player character sprite labeled "60-69 in-game units" in white text and "DO NOT GO OVER 70, POKEMON WILL DESPAWN" in red text. On the side, a list of instructions says "Position Player 60-69 units away from the saved Pokemon, ideally 100+ units away from the Spawner." and "This tells the Spawner its OK to spawn a new Pokemon. Save & Reset again." A graphic by Papa Jefe detailing the third step of the "spawn overload" method in Z-A. It is titled "Step 3: Check For New Spawn," and shows an image of a red circle, the center of which is marked "Spawner," and a label of "~50 in-game units" along an arrow on the radius. Just outside of the circle is a charmander sprite, and inside the circle by the center is a second Charmander labeled "NEW SPAWN!" There are also two Pokemon player character sprites, with one positioned a bit of distance outside the circle, and one just inside, with an arrow between them indicating movement towards inside the circle. On the side, a list of instructions says "Move player back into range of original spawner, and check for a new Pokemon." Below that, in green text, it says "If there is a Pokemon, it worked!" and then in red text "If there is not a Pokemon, RESET and either move player further OR lure 1st Pokemon slightly farther." A graphic by Papa Jefe detailing the fourth step of the "spawn overload" method in Z-A. It is titled "Step 4: Trigger The Overload," and shows an image of a red circle, the center of which is marked "Spawner," and a label of "~50 in-game units" along an arrow on the radius. Inside the circle are two Charmander sprites, one by the center labeled "NEW SPAWN!" and another labeled "ORIGINAL SPAWN." There is also a Pokemon player character sprite next to the "original spawn" Charmander. On the side, a list of instructions says "Lure original Pokemon back into the 50-unit radius of the Spawner. Then SAVE & RESET. This moves the original Pokemon's origin point back within the Spawner radius. This tricks the Spawner into thinking its allowed to generate more Pokemon than usual." A graphic by Papa Jefe detailing the final step of the "spawn overload" method in Z-A. It is titled "Step 5: Lock In The Overload," and shows an image of a red circle, the center of which is marked "Spawner," and a label of "~50 in-game units" along an arrow on the radius. Inside the circle are two Pokémon sprites, a Charmander labeled "SPAWN #1" and a Tepig labeled "SPAWN #2." There is also a Pokemon player character sprite on the other side of the circle. On the side, a list of instructions says "Perform some kind of action that resets the Pokemon on screen. 1. Trainer Blacking Out 2. Night/Day Transition 3. Using a Bench within 50 units. 4. Fast Travel CAUTION: THIS WILL AUTOSAVE" with the last warning in red text. Below that it says "The Spawner will see that it has extra Pokemon that it created inside its radius, and become overloaded."

The "spawn overload" method is the most powerful way of hunting in this game, but it also can be quite tricky to set up. @papajefe.bsky.social has done incredible work experimenting with this method and creating multiple video guides as well as a great series of info-graphics #shalphaweek 🧵 (3/5)
A graphic titled "What Is The 'Spawn Overload' Method?" with the Shiny Alpha Week logo and Miss L's twitch link in the corner. A text box below reads "So in Legends: Z-A, there is a rather complicated way of "overloading" some spawners, causing more Pokémon than intended to spawn. This can be very helpful in shiny hunting, both for just getting more spawns with each check (like in the well-known method of getting 6 fixed alphas in Zone 20), and for actually forcing only specific spawns to appear, like with the starters in Zone 20. Papa Jefe has a great summary thread as well as multiple videos on this topic, so I highly recommend checking them out! A graphic by Papa Jefe detailing one step of the "spawn overload" method in Z-A. It is titled "Step 1: Break The Leash," and shows an image of a red circle, the center of which is marked "Spawner," and a label of "~50 in-game units" along an arrow on the radius. Just outside of the circle are two sprites of a charmander and the Pokemon player character. On the side, a list of instructions says "Lead the Pokemon ~50m away from where it spawned. It should drop aggro, and start running back to its origin. Save ASAP to set the new origin outside the Spawner radius, then reset game."

With all the different ways of resetting in this game, it's important to make sure your spawns are actually changing so you don't end up wasting your time. If you can't hear the 'mon you're trying to reset, then that likely means it hasn't spawned in, like if it's on a building! #shalphaweek 🧵 (2/5)
A graphic titled "How Do You Reset The Pokémon Spawns In Legends: Z-A?" with the Shiny Alpha Week logo and Miss L's twitch link in the corner. There's a text box reading "So now that we know where to find alpha Pokémon, how do we reset them? There are many ways to reset and hunt the spawns in Z-A, but don't worry, if you find a shiny, it cannot despawn from any of these methods! Make sure to save once you find one, in case you knock it out or it runs away, and you'll never fail a shiny!" Below that are two columns, the first of which says "Anything that causes a loading screen will reset all the nearby spawns, including: - The Day/Night cycle passing (bench resets) - Warping - The stairs in Zone 3 - Entering/Exiting a building - Teleporters in Lysandre Labs" The second column reads "You can also reset spawns using their normal despawn mechanics! - If you go between a Pokémon's spawn and despawn distances (50 and 70m on Switch 2 iirc), you will get a new spawn every time! - If you knock-out a Pokémon, then save right before it spawns back in, you can soft-reset until it shines!"

With the 2nd #shalphaweek coming up very soon, I wanted to write up a thread with all the info I currently know about hunting in Z-A! This is a general overview with just the important stuff, but if you're looking for more details, I highly recommend searching for other guides! 🧵 (1/5)
A graphic titled "What are the best ways to hunt for Shiny Alpha Pokémon in Legends: Z-A?" with the Shiny Alpha Week logo and Miss L's twitch link in the corner. There are four text boxes below, the first of which reads: "Just like in Legends: Arceus, the best way to hunt for shiny alphas is to utilize the 'static' or fixed alpha spawns around thge map. Unlike Legends: Arceus, however, most normal spawns have reasonable alpha rates that make hunting for shiny alphas actually feasible! Here's a breakdown of the three different spawn categories:" There are three vertical text boxes underneath, the first of which is titled "Inside The Wild Zones" and reads "While every Wild Zone has at least one fixed alpha, all other spawns can only have alphas once you've done the respective "Surveying Wild Zone" research task, after which all non-fixed spawns have between a 5 and 20% chance to be alpha." The second vertical text box is titled "Outside The Wild Zones" and says "There are many fixed alpha spawns that can be found outside of the Wild Zones, and many other spawns have the 5-20% alpha chance by default, however some spawns cannot be alpha, such as the birds on the light poles and all Eevee spawns outside of Wild Zones. Please check Serebii to see the specifics on any spawns you're interested in!" The final vertical text box is titled "Fossil Revives" and reads "Unfortunately, along with being locked to full-odds, the fossils have only a 1% rate of being alpha when you revive them, making obtaining a shiny alpha fossil incredibly diffiuclt, similar to Legends: Arceus. For those that want to tackle the 1 in 409,600 chance of getting a shiny alpha fossil, I wish you luck!"

Graphic reading "What is Shiny Alpha Week?" with the Shiny Alpha Week logo as well as the link to Miss L's twitch account. Underneath are three textboxes, the first reads "As a celebration of the return of alpha Pokémon I am hosting another full week of shiny alpha hunting! Adventure into the wonderous lands of Hisui and Kalos and search for the strongest and largest shinies you can find!" The second says "I will be live on my twitch channel every single day of the week, hunting for shiny alpha Pokémon! This is a community event! If you find a shiny alpha Pokémon, let me know by posting to Bluesky with #ShalphaWeek or ping me on discord with a screenshot showing the met date, and I'll add it to the submissions!" The final text box reads "While shiny alpha hunting in PLA has been pretty thoroughly documented, I am hosting this event a month after Z-A's release so that we can find the best ways to hunt for shiny alphas there first! For more info on PLA shiny alpha hunting, check out the rest of this thread!"
