Before Koopa Troopa, there was Shellcreeper. Before Bowser, he was BOSS CREEPER. That name never appeared in-game, but it is the model for every "ascended enemy" boss, including Petey Piranha, who is basically just BOSS PIRANHA PLANT in Japanese.

15e anecdote : En japonais, Bowser a pour nom... un plat coréen.

Durant la conception du jeu, Bowser était nommé "Boss Creeper" (en référence aux Shellcreeper, ancêtres conceptuels des Koopa dans Mario.Bros), puis par la suite Miyamoto le nommé Daimaō Kuppa.

Si Daimaō signifie "Grand Roi Démon"...

Les tortues qui apparaissent dans "Mario Bros." ne sont PAS des Koopas mais des Carapeurs.

D'ailleurs, la description de leur trophée dans "Super Smash Bros. for Wii U" dit que les Carapeurs ont évolué en Koopas, et qu'ils sont des prédateurs de ces derniers !

Shellcreeper Debut: Mario Bros. Attack: POW-er Play Type: Balanced Speed: 5/10 Power: 5/10 Pass: 6/10 Spike: 6/10 A very, VERY distant relative of the Koopa Troopas, Mario and Luigi had to deal with these guys in the sewers before their adventures in the Mushroom Kingdom - even back then turtles were a thorn in their side! They can be knocked over on their backs and kicked away, but unlike Koopas, their shells won't be sent flying and slam into other creatures. The Shellcreepers are back in action competing in the Spikers League, and their shells have been given POW Blocks! Their special attack, POW-er Play, lets them jump and slam on the ground with their shell, making an earthquake! It damages EVERYONE on the ground, but can only be used once before it needs to be recharged. Make sure you make the most of it! Sidestepper Debut: Mario Bros. Attack: Power Pincher Type: Speed Speed: 8/10 Power: 7/10 Pass: 1/10 Spike: 6/10 These salty crabs can be found in underground sewers or hanging out by the tide on beaches. Like their name suggests, they move around from side to side, and like any crab, have a set of pincers you don't wanna go anywhere near. They're quick to anger though, and will start chasing anyone who attacks it. This makes their speed stat quite unique in the Spikers League: while it is normally a respectable eight, taking enough hits from enemies bumps it all the way up to 10! The claws also make for powerful weapons, and Power Pincher has it grab an enemy and hurl them away. Of course, with only claws to work with, they're not so good at catching and passing the ball. Best used for offensive positions. Fighter Fly Debut: Mario Bros. Attack: Buggy Bouncer Type: Technique Speed: 3/10 Power: 4/10 Pass: 7/10 Spike: 7/10 These insidious insects used to clog up the sewers Mario and Luigi worked at as plumbers. While they are mainly ground bound in spite of their wings, Fighter Flies will hop around often, making their movement unpredictable and annoying to deal with. Better not get them angry, or they'll just hop around more! Their awkward jumping movement makes them difficult to control, and also puts a dent in their speed. However, those jumps can allow them to pull off some devastating spikes if the ball is in the optimal position. Buggy Bouncer is its special move, where it gets mad and starts hopping around willy-nilly, bouncing any players it runs into backward. It'll also drive anyone it lands on top of into the ground!
