I’ll be doing a walk soon with someone in the know about all the trees but my hunch is these are originals, selected and placed by Ruth Shellhorn. If they look like elms, that’s what they are, IIRC. I have her drawings but I’m at a restaurant right now.

So it was done. They built an alligator pond, with live baby gators, and it was there for a year!
