Global dev and philanthropy doesn’t see that most movements have been resourcing and funding themselves because they never had access to international money to start with.
Movements are still here in-spite of global dev and philanthropy, not because of it.

When one follows the money (AWID reports, GF for women, #ShiftThePower Too-Southern-To-Be-Funded, GPP reports, etc) it becomes obvious philanthropy & international dev has paid lip service to (feminist, queer, Southern CSO) movements but has not followed that up with adequate funding.

Ironic that a funder call on the “Preservation of Endangered Indigenous Knowledge” also includes ambiguous framing on how the funding entity will also have “rights” over the knowledge 👀.
