Tokyo Xtreme Racer/shutoko battle is properly called a NightTime Racing, or NTR, game
I do not like the term visual novel being used for Japanese style graphic adventure games such as Snatcher, Phoenix Wright, Danganronpa, etc. so much like how STG is short for ShooTing game I say we call them Japanese AdVenture games or JAV for short to avoid confusion

R type delta HD boosted looks good, Psyvariar buzz does not at all. Ugly ships and weird pilot hit boxes, just not right. Shutoko is here with big seat setups

With all the vibes of a Vampire: The Masquerade game, this clandestine highway racer welcomes you to its Quest mode.

Turns out Birkenhead has a really cool game shop with some nice imports - was fun seeing Shutoko Battle 2 right after playing it on DC lol

tokyo's own "KK Line" road, which happens to be Japan's first ever expressway, just got decommissioned last week.

on its last day of operation i filmed a LOOONG AF drive within it (and around the shutoko), PLUS some urban exploration of its odd secrets.

just a preview, i'll upload it to YT soon 😛

Earlier this year, WN3DL and Kraze preserved Chokkan ☆ Shutokō Battle (C1 Loop)! Released in 2007, the game originally required you to tilt the phone to steer the car, but MemoryHunter was able to hack the game to use keypad controls. The game runs surprisingly well!

Tried Tokyo Extreme Racer/Shutokō Battle 2 on Dreamcast today

On paper this is the most repetitive game of all time, in practice it is simply the most addictive game of all time

If we're never getting a new F-Zero or Wave Race again, then every Mario Kart from here on out should be dedicated to a specific style of racer. F-Zero Kart, Wave Kart, yes. But also Dakar Rally Kart, Ridge Racer Kart, Shutokō Battle Kart.
