Daytime scene on a cloudy day in a large city, facing a broad city sidewalk in front of a group of mixed-use buildings undergoing major renovations; the buildings are all tagged up with graffiti and there is a large green "sidewalk shed" and scaffolding in front; in the foreground, there are easily a hundred or more pigeons standing on the floor, as well as on the rollup door lintel, window sills, and doorways; an elderly woman has left food for them, which annoys some people, but it is her thing and I say let her live her life; a couple of the pigeons appears to be taking flight; in the distance, beyond the high-rise buildings up the street, the gray cloudy sky looks serious - it will probably rain tomorrow.

Evening scene on a sidewalk in a productive City, facing a green construction shed (known as a "sidewalk shed") that has been erected to divert pedestrian traffic and make life difficult for those with disabilities; along with the yellow-black caution tape and an arrow telling pedestrians where to go, the drab, green shed is adorned with a litany of small graffiti tags, with a signature of a newer writer "baby girl"; however, they spell it "Baby G-R-R-R-L"; in the center of the wall, under the incandescent safety light, six identical flyers are posted to advertise a concert for the spiritual, meditative music of late Indian spiritual leader Sri Chinmoy - performed by an ensemble of international artists; it is this Saturday on the Upper West Side and is being held in a Christian church, which is kind of cool in a unifying sort of way; the flyers have a nice portrait photo of Sri Chinmoy with a delightful and wide smile, although there is a lot of controversy around his life and teachings.

Nighttime scene on a sidewalk in a large city where a large green sidewalk shed has been installed along with silver metal scaffolding; a spotlight casts a glow on the numerous graffiti tags written on the shed, which has been there for quite some time as workers renovate an old apartment building; there is an arrow with safety tape pasted to the structure but, more interestingly, a light brown teddy bear of about 50cm has perched itself on the metal scaffolding, helping to guide pedestrians around the safety apparatus.

Evening scene under a lighted scaffolding on sidewalk in a championship City, facing one of the ubiquitous, green plywood "sidewalk shed" construction safety barriers with an official sign reading "sidewalk closed - use temporary walkway" and an arrow pointing to a dangerous maze of orange barriers; there are a few graffiti tags painted on the wall and, right beside a sign reading "post no bills", fans have plastered large posters with black-and-white portraits of players from the twenty-twenty-six NBA Champions, the New York Knicks; the sidewalk is still wet from earlier rain; the City is a couple of levels more chaotic when wet, but it was nice for it to cool down after the recent heat wave.
