Mulberry Silk hankies spin is finished. I spun this lace weight. Plied with commercial Merino/mohair yarn. 🧶 #handspunyarn #mulberrysilk #silkhankies

I finished spinning and chain plying the first half of Sample 82, Silk Mawata/Hankies, which were in my stash for over 20 years. Easier to spin than the Silk Caps, but still not fun. Singles were spun at 60 wpi, and chain plyed to get a 3 ply, 16 wpi laceweight yarn, about 59 yards to 0.61 ounces.

I finished spinning and plying the second half of Sample 82, Silk Mawata/ Hankies. Singles were spun at 30 wpi, and plyed from a center pull ball to get a 2 ply, 14 wpi fingering weight yarn, about 37 yards to 0.61 ounces. I think that takes care of the silk samples.
