Chickens //

Apple's not feeling good, so we took her inside to evaluate and watch for possible symptoms... But unlike the silkies, she can't relax without a perch. And I don't have an indoor perch...

... Except for my arm, I guess, which she's trying to nap on...

I’ve never seen lice 😬 until now lol. I had a light mite problem on the silkies because they pick them up from the wild birds and then go broody and don’t take care of themselves properly for a month 🙄 but never enough to act off. I’ve only read about lice. I’m always paranoid about red mites.

LMAO 🤣😂 I adore Silkies. Mine would look so cute in this.

Hahaha! I already got the support of the most important neighbors and hopefully the other ones won’t notice lol. Sometimes silkies are quieter. Or that’s what I like to tell myself.

Yes, it's Indio! Never owned Indios. I only owned Silkies, Dutch Bantams, Frizzle, Naked Neck, etc. But now we have standard popular egg layer breeds. It's pretty much a hobby for my family, not a businesses. I want Brahma and Orpington hens to add to the chicken family next year.

Going out to the barn to see that Poppy has somehow broken the silkies out again despite my efforts to keep her out of their pen:

Eso debe ser algo de las silkies porque otras razas prefieren más bien revolcarse en tierra o arena, de hecho lo que conozco son ese tipo de "baños" 😅 🐔

Chickens come in many fascinating breeds, each with unique features.
Some, like Silkies and Polish chickens, are prized for their appearance. Others, like Ameraucanas and Marans, lay colorful eggs.
Rare breeds such as Ayam Cemani and Onagadori stand out for their unusual colors and long tails.
