⚓if you see this, post a monster⚓
#sinkyourhookteeth
a kid being told by "i will never leave you alone" by a sea serpent with their guts and chains to an anchor falling out their neck. a book wrapped in a worm-like tongue is pulled from the monster's very tall mouth.

some of my #SinkYourHookteeth blorbos I drew in 2019 :)
an illustration of a human looking up in awe and bumping foreheads with a glowing cosmic horror. the cosmic horror has a humanlike face connected to a long monstrous mouth with hooked teeth, hanging tentacles that gradient from pink to green. The human is Black with a tiny scar beside his eye and is holding the cosmic horror's tentacle and chin. the vibes are pleasant.

the peace out meme with the tumblr post by perchu saying "i'm alive but only ironically" the monster energy kill meme but it's a green-eyed memraid with sharp teeth and coral in her hair the frodo baggins meme where he says "alright then, keep your secrets" but saying "sea crits" as in sea creatures instead, and the character is underwater the "EXCUSE ME! they ask for no pickles" meme but instead Beyoncé and Jay-Z it's 2 merpeople

a #SinkYourHookteeth illustration from 2020💚
A digital painting of a staircase spiraling around a large, glowing tank of water. In it, an eel mermaid presses their hands and face up against the glass where a human is enthusiastically showing the mermaid a camera. There are bones and foliage scattered around in a hectic background. closeup on the mermaid and human, which better shows the mermaid's curly salt and pepper hair, stitches up their arms, and her bored expression. Also better shows the chunk missing form the human's ear and excited or surprised expression, although it's a little hard to tell because she wears a patterned brown mask over her mouth and nose. closeup on the same illustration, showing a skull, spine, ferns and other plants, as well as pipes in the background.

#sinkyourhookteeth
says 2020 boogeymadam and is of a skinny eel mermaid with curly natural hair. she is swimming with moray eels. another 2020 inktober of a fat merperson with long spindly hair and a trident. they seem to be lit from below and are smirking. a 2018 inktober of a curly haired mermaid with stitches up their arms and coral in their hair. they grasp a human skull another 2018 inktober piece of an eel merpeson hiding behind their own tail. tentacles spill out from behind them. not a fav but i wanted to include it because this is one of my comic's major characters lol

dialogue-scrubbed pages from my webcomic #sinkyourhookteeth🌊🦷
a comic page, with no text except stamps of "sink your hookteeth" faintly , depicting a floating man being stared at by an eldritch monster with tentacles and a fishy face, then him floating over glowing palm aas a woman materializes or dematerializes in the foreground. he reaches for her, looking distraught. then he's shwon reaching toward the same glowing hand with his head split open. a merperson holding the jaw of a the same man from the previous page, whose body is gone and forearms and neck are dripping off into nothing. he glares up at the merperson who smiles down at him. then he is dropped into a hooktoothed maw.

3. Favorite OC

the main cast :’)
my fav fluctuates, but tends to be the MC in whichever scene I’m working on. they all bring me joy in different ways so I’m not gonna choose. #sinkyourhookteeth
a digital illustration of a chaotic watery scene with giant leaves and waves and skulls. a greenish greyish mermaid with stitches is leaning against a white human woman with a trident and talking animatedly with their hands. behind them, a Black man is sitting on a glowing silver merperson, who is floatnig above the water. their hands are clasped.

2. Newest OC (in my comic #sinkyourhookteeth)

Joaquim, maybe? he's a minor character who is meant to help flesh out and develop Reef (who isn't even a main character themself) but oops, starting to care him.
two chararacters in uniform looking at a tablet. in red they are labeled "joaquim" and "reef" and below that are the words "comic W.I.P." or Work In Progress.

title and subtitle read: Sink Your Hookteeth, chapter two. there are eels, hermit crabs, and a shrimp-like fish with a stargazer fish face mirrored around a glowing sea serpent that resembles both an eel and cthulhu, who swims beside a mermaid. Says "Sink Your Hookteeth" and is of a mermaid and is a closeup of two characters, a mermaid and a human who are underneath some waves and behind some teeth and grey gums. pages of a comic about a giant merperson and a human floating above their palm. the merperson is saying "i don't enjoy stifling your mind" in the first panel, and in the second "you'll survive with those thoughts confined" and the human in a doctor's smock angrily replies "will my friend?" while looking at a scene of himself, his friend sitting on a gurney with hospital IV bag, and another doctor looking on grimly. Fish and lily pads float around them. the mermaid from the second image swimming backward from the human in the second image, who is taking a swipe at them with a screwdriver. the mermaid has the human's mask in their hands as the human swims up toward the surface. a zoom out of the same.

1. Oldest OC (in #SinkYourHookteeth) (2/2)

maybe this is cheating but if recognizability matters not, have this invader Zim OC that eventually became this frankenfish, Vythizo.
the psychic damage I take whenever I read “Tak...🥺”
an An Invader Zim OC with stitches and green eyes, literally the only trait she still shares with Vythizo. Her name was invader Vam. In one doodle she and invader Tak from the tv show are staring into each other's eyes while Vam says "Tak..." In another doodle she's sitting holding a butterfly and her PAK is missing because younger me forgot irkens need PAKs to live. angry mermaid, stitches and greenness intact. and gayness intact.

1. Oldest OC (in #SinkYourHookteeth)

As far as being recognizable as the same character, Mordecai is the oldest. He started out as the doctor of a traveling carnival in a project my sibling and I dabbled with in middle school for like 2 weeks before we lost interest. (1/2)
Three chibi-ish looking characters and a bust of the one on the far right, a man with locs and a goatee. Over the black haired girl, it reads "this is my sibling's character. below the white haired blindfolded charcter it reads, "this isnt' nen. Every damn project of mine had a white haired person" Under the bust of Mordecai it reads "his goatee and his lip ring, oof. he was SUCH a different person" Mordecai looking up at the stargazer shrimp, which is the sun in Sink Your Hookteeth's world. Red fish swim by him. He has no goatee or lip ring (...yet? no, jk)

4. favorite OC design,

Vythizo's curls are soothing to paint, plus they have a big bad sea monster form i cant wait to reach again! :)
can’t show the whole thing cause my comic went on hiatus b4 she got to shift into that form & I don't want to spoil it, but all #sinkyourhookteeth mers have one.
a mermaid floating a red background, where devilfish are swimming behind them. In her hair is coral and bone, and in their hand is a ripped tarot card. the mermaid has stitches up their arms and on their fins. a split-mouthed sea monster with its tentacles wrapped around a submarine
