My biggest piece of advice to young women is: leave
If it doesn't feel good, secure, stable, etc. Just go. Don't go back and forth. Go. Make room for this type of treatment by shedding the bullshit without a bunch of turmoil. The why doesnt even matter.

I did some checking in with my folks regarding Beryl. I got in touch with my sisterfriend who's another writer who's from Texas living in Atlanta. Her folks had damage but are getting power back. I called my mom about our Louisiana folks. We haven't heard any bad news from them so assume all good.
