Also, looking at the dates, Wild Bill Donovan was likely the grandchild of refugees from the Great Famine and his grandfather was from Skibereen; he probably grew up in a household that referred to the English as the Sassenach.
I mean, he was Irish-American from Buffalo.

We all have those Patti moments Marceline. Mine was an afternoon 'solo' performance in a walled garden in Skibereen in West Cork. As it transpired the whole band played semi-acoustic, and at the end she just walked off the stage into the crowd and started chatting to everyone. A genuine legend.

Was down on that bridge with the family a few years back.
South West Cork is one of my favourite places on the planet. Used to go camping down in Barleycove during the summers as a youngfella. Schull and Skibereen are nice little towns too.

Seeing American football which I don’t understand on try tv in a pub in skibereen where nobody understands American football is making me despair about how much I’ve invested my heart n sportsball over the years. It just seems silly
