Disrupting motor cortical regional activity during motor sequence skill training impairs human motor visuomotor skill acquisition and learning that is not sequence-specific
Implicit sequence and visuomotor skill learning is important for successful goal-directed behavior in everyday tasks. However, prior research has primarily relied on correlational methods to investiga...

Interesting that it is still a skill acquisition model, going from explicit learning via practice and repetition to implicit knowledge.

Can you still learn a motor skill after moderate alcohol intake?

Our study suggests yes.

In our experiments, drinking before or after practice did not impair implicit or explicit motor learning.

Sober or Not, You Still Learn: Implicit and Explicit Motor Learning Unaffected by Moderate Alcohol
We investigated the acute effects of moderate alcohol consumption on implicit and explicit motor learning in young adult male social drinkers. Two experiments used the Serial Reaction Time Task to ...

Due to repeated task execution an implicit template emerges between the distinct sequence items (landmarks). Which now completely answers the questions of what (the items) and how (the space between the items).

Yes. And????

This is completely known.

Templates compel the what (the sequence items) and the how (how to move the between) the items. Although we often use them in many hybrid constellations, both are capable to lead motor actions autonomously.

This is the kind of thing I find interesting, an agent skill to capture learning moments, created by a data science lecturer

The hippocampal theta-sweep system can be interpreted as the neural implementation of an autonomous spatiotemporal template of action trajectory shapes, dynamically allocating allocentric attention to the empty space between script items.

We create templates containing 2 autonomous cognitive representations. The sequence items (the numerical/symbolical what) and the space between (the spatio-temporal how) the sequence items.

It is exactly the same in:

Horner’s conclusion has already been fully explained: the sequence items — the what — and the spatial structure between those items — the how — are both cognitive representations, with the what defined
