It's amusing to observe Curtis Yarvin in this setting. He seems quite in love with the sound of his own voice. And most of his utterances are the sort of banalities you'd expect of a recent autodidact—wowed by the most superficial connections, and lacking deeper contextual knowledge.

Historian here exactly. The Dems need to learn from the no quarters given political tactics and campaigns of the Republicans in the 1850s and 1860s when they managed to upend half a century slaveholder dominance of the federal government.
Democrats need to accept that they're entering a new era of procedural Total War. This includes a big escalation in redistricting, but it's not limited to that. If Republicans don't like it, tough shit: They made this world, and they are the ones inflicting it on us.

I hate that my amateur study of the Slaveholder Rebellion is so useful these days
What I’ve learned from being taught Black history from childhood is that It Did Happen Here. Not only have Black people lived under fascist structures for the vast majority of US history, but the Confederacy was the forerunner of fascist ideology and antidemocratic efforts before Europe tried.
I don't know how this ends, but it's now abundantly clear that It Could Happen Here.

I hate that my amateur study of the Slaveholder Rebellion is so useful these days
it has more in common, in fact, with with the antebellum slaveholder preoccupation with (its vision of) medieval europe, a romantic notion of Anglo supremacy that you can see articulated, in similar form, during the early days of american imperialism at the turn of the 20th century.
