Vampire 🩸

Slavtober week 3!
The theme was mythical beings, so I wanted to explore the whole image of vampires in slavic culture. In Eastern Europe vampires were believed to visit their loved ones at night, so I took that myth as an inspiration and drew a pair separated by death

As an immigrant in the UK, I felt at times that the food I grew up eating was weird or even gross, and it took me a while to shake it off.Give me all the pickles, creamy cottage cheese, herring, rye bread, beetroot, dill and marjoram, and just about all the garlic you can carry😤 #slavtober

#slavtober / #inktober day two! These Northern, specifically Finnish, dancing shoes are made for our traditional folk dances and are some of the comfiest shoes I've ever worn. I believe I still have a pair somewhere, as an ex- folk-dancer. The name of the shoes are 'Supikkaat'.

#slavtober / #inktober Day 3 - One of my favourite Finnish traditions is that on the Summer Solstice (Juhannus) eve maidens have to pick 7 different flowers and run around a bit, put them under their pillow to dream about their future spouses.
