What are your favourite fauna friends in your garden? Mine are Mr Toad and Mrs Slowworm. Still too cold for Mr Toad, but Mrs Slowworm has popped up on a was day. Oh, and the family of fire salamanders. Gotta be careful in the dark, especially on a wet night. #GardensHour

Have you spotted any slow worms yet?
Despite the name, they're not worms, they're not even snakes, heck, they're not even particularly slow. More accurately, they're a legless lizard.

I’m delighted that so many slow worms are living under a dustbin lid in our tiny city centre garden (photo taken at the end of summer) . So pleased that there are enough invertebrates around to keep them fed and thriving! #wildgarden #urbannature #slowworm
