I have adjusted the settings to the nth degree. Unfortunately, I need to use it for work, Track Changes, all that. I sort of accept that toward the end of an edit, it's going to be sluggish. But I just opened a new manuscript, haven't made any changes, I'm just checking for formatting issues.

Right, so I don’t really see the defence of Burnham here. Not doing the thing to fix stuff is still not doing it. As I said, there are directionally helpful bits in there but we aren’t escaping the trap (rising debt costs and sluggish growth crowding out basically everything else)

If a fight is "quick transition to combat and you're right in" then more fights is not so bad; if it's, say, PS1 disc load for transition, slow camera pan, wait for ATB bar, press attack, sluggish animation, repeat 3-4 times, victory pose, load results screen, load back to world map, that's FFIX

if it's windows 11, I'd say go into task manager>performance and click CPU and check the up time. windows 11 doesn't really shut down. one of my friend's PCs had an uptime of about 80 or so days and was sluggish as hell. you'd wanna disable something called "fast startup" to fix it..

The original Wipeout was pretty hard. The sleds were sluggish and hard to control. And there was a last minute problem with music licensing for the US, so the original soundtrack with multiple artists was replaced by in-house CoLD SToRAGE tracks. Which were pretty good, by the way!

After struggling to download Ace Combat 8, I finally managed to get to the menus, after waiting over an HOUR for the game to load up... only to see it being sluggish as hell.
