#smallholding
I’d like to take this opportunity to say that, for any readers thinking of starting a new life on a smallholding, the chances of being set upon by a mob of farm workers are fleetingly small. 70-80%? You’ll probably be fine. Take the leap!

This has unearthed a suppressed memory of staying with family friends in the 1980s whose neighbours had a Good Life-style garden/smallholding with incredibly noisy cockerel *in Acton*.

Cloudy and cool today, but no rain.

So, good opportunity to carry on with current project of organising and tidying area around house somewhat, ready for the next wave of mess-generating smallholding/renovation projects!

youtu.be/kZPKZYjOtWU?... if you're a smallholding, I think a consultation is worth it. Certainly, Symbiosis does big jobs, & and they have all the means to do so, but it's nice they educate smaller properties:

GORDON: Red Valley was a smallholding next to a very small mountain called Beinn Bagg. Affectionately known as Bean Bag. Only, no one's got any affection for it, so we just called it Ball Bag.

The teletubbies are typical leftists. They live in a communal house and eat free slop served up to them by the government.

Dipsy should eject his worthless housemates, turn Teletubbyland into a profitable agricultural smallholding, then marry a fine Aryan woman to cook, clean and bear him children

i used to run into a cow in Istanbul where our company had offices. Apparently the govt were trying to get an old lady to sell her smallholding but she wouldn't. So there was her cow and a couple of other animals walking round a business district.

With a life-long interest in archaeology and as one who runs a smallholding and therefore sees dead who are dearer to me and more personal than most people are, I don’t object to mummies, or bog bodies being offered to view. I think we need to see death to understand life.

🚜Beeutiful Oaks Farm, Crondall

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of visiting Beeutiful Oaks Farm in Crondall, and I was amazed by what’s being achieved on this smallholding.

With the large number of pieces of ELG work in public collections, I'm going to continue this theme next week so to close this week here's "Norfolk Smallholding" by Walter Steggles from 1934 along with his sketch for the view. The oil is in the collection at Manchester City Art Gallery.

I’m home alone again, this time for a week.

The plan is to write around 2000 words a day and to keep the horse, cats, dog and kamikaze hens alive.

Bon courage à moi.

Mark. What beef cattle breed would you recommend (and why?) for a low-input smallholding of 30acres on a heavy clay soil seeking Soil Association accreditation?
