The PortaProgXL is back out on my desk as I develop the smoketest for a new board.
The PortaProgXL can program via SWD or UF2 upload. It can also run basic smoketests using USB serial.
It's battery powered and stores firmware files on SD.
No computer required 👍🏼

For any given PCB design, I have a few ideas of what might fail. I add a legend along the break off rail so I just circle any issue detected by the smoketest.
This makes test and rework quicker.
(Ideally there would be no issues and no rework but I'm not THAT good 🫣)

also apparently i need to correct a remote worker’s smoketest because he passed some stuff i failed and the two different board revisions should be failing the exact same way
which then makes me wonder why the fuck we test them both if they’re supposed to be the same
