Properly storing your snow blower for the summer or any long off-season is essential for maintaining performance, preventing damage, and ensuring it is ready when winter returns. In this video from WholeToolBox, we guide you through the correct steps for preparing and storing your snow blower so it stays reliable year after year. This maintenance helps prevent fuel system issues, protects internal components from rust, and keeps moving parts properly lubricated. By following a few simple maintenance procedures, you can extend the life of your equipment and avoid costly repairs when the next snow season arrives. What you’ll learn: – How to safely prepare your snow blower before storage. – The correct way to stabilize and drain fuel to prevent carburetor issues. – Essential lubrication steps to protect chains, shafts, and gears. – How to service the axle, bushings, and wheel components. – Proper auger system maintenance to prevent rust and seizing. This step-by-step guide covers everything from adding fuel stabilizer and running the engine to circulate it, to draining the carburetor bowl to remove leftover fuel. You will also learn how to lubricate the drive system, including the chain, hex shaft, internal gears, and axle components. Proper lubrication is crucial to prevent corrosion and keep the machine operating smoothly after months of inactivity. The tutorial also demonstrates how to tilt the machine safely and service the auger assembly. Greasing the auger shaft and inspecting shear bolts ensures the system remains protected during storage.
