Chuuu! Sally wasn’t sure how much further she could take this. Her puffed-up cheeks had almost grown as large as her own head. Chuuu! Still no reaction. After twenty minutes of trying, the pufferfish merely judged her with a bombastic side-eye, half-hidden behind the corals. “What in the world are you doing?” Antonia asked, laughing as she knelt beside her and zoomed in on the shimmering display. This time, she’d get some incredible shots at the aquarium. For sure. Her girlfriend let out a dramatic groan and leaned back. “Aww, come on! I really thought I could tickle a reaction out of him.” Sal turned toward her partner with a wide grin. “I was so sure he was gonna puff!” “Honey,” Antonia replied calmly, “you’re always sure he’s gonna puff.” One after another, she cut, tilted, and recolored the best shots of the fish — until a small pop-up suddenly covered one picture of Sally’s unimpressed, round fin-pal. “… Wait.” Her voice cracked just slightly. “That’s… wow. That’s the fifth time you’ve tried to make this work.” The shift in her tone made Sally curious. She leaned over Antonia’s shoulder — and discovered a heartwarming secret. Sally looked straight into her partner’s eyes, her own glittering even more than the water’s surface. “You keep a Diario? You… you really keep track of things like this?” “It’s… a force of habit. Most likely,” Antonia mumbled, turning away. She pulled her blonde hair forward like a curtain. It was no use. Sally knew that blush. “You see…” Antonia continued softly, lifting her phone. “Life is made of so many small, incredible moments. And with everything we’re forced to do… we sometimes forget what we actually want to do. What we truly love doing.” She smiled — delicate, honest. “So I write down a few memories every day. Or… at least I try to.” Her thumb hovered over the screen. “I don’t want to forget how it felt. Being here. Being with you.” For a moment, Sally just stared at her. “… Have I ever told you,” she blurted out, voice hushed with awe, “how you’d look best standing in front of an altar?” An enormous puff. Floating right amidst the corals. “Next to me?”

Just hope it doesn't lead to a power outage.

Last time we had a decent snowstorm here the power was out for 8 hours and it got really cold in my bedroom lmao

That, and I had to fight an anomalous snowdune that kept regenerating every time I'd look at my phone for a minute or two.
