Capitalism is the Crisis

Capitalism's logical conclusion is fascism at home & imperialism abroad. Genocide, famine, climate disasters, pandemics, it all stems from the desire for endless profit & exploitation. Capitalism is the glitch.

Socialism or Barbarism

Quote by Rosa Luxemburg. Either we can build a socialist society based on democracy, equity, and human need, or we can descend further into the barbaric capitalist hellscape that has humanity by the throat.

Abolish All Private Property

Private property, not personal property. Shift economic power from capital owners to the labor force! There must be democracy in the workplace!

Vandaag kwamen aan in Leipzig na zo’n 700 km fietsen. Wat een toffe stad! Vlak na het stadion van RB Leipzig kwamen we langs deze DDR superman aan de Marschner Straße.

Suppression

A continuation of the evil old men series of images. These soulless ghouls live only to suppress our happiness, crush our hopes, and steal the fruits of our labor.

"Before a Long Journey" by Geli Korzhev (Soviet Russian) - Oil on canvas / 1970–1976 - The Museum of Russian Art (Minneapolis, Minnesota) #WomenInArt #ArtText #art #OilPainting #GeliKorzhev #GeliyKorzhev #SocialistArt #TMORA #womensart #SovietArt #SocialistRealism #Korzhev #MuseumofRussianArt
A young female Soviet soldier views her reflection in a circular mirror to reimagine a moment of deep introspection regarding one's profession and role in society in 1941 Moscow during the Second World War. We can guess from her gaze that, as a servant to her nation's military force, she’s leaving, possibly never to come back. Just one last long look in the mirror ... and then away. It’s heartbreaking and inspirational ... and I am left wondering what happened to her. The woman, rumored to be one of the artist's daughters, wears a light greyish-beige uniform, a light-colored cap, and has a wood rifle slung over her shoulder. Her back is to us as she touches the wall with her grimy left hand, closely gazing at her reflection. Her expression is not direct, but her posture suggests a momentary stance of integrity with a sense of unhappiness. Her youthful beauty looks back in an austere room with muted greyish-blue walls and a large dark circular piece of equipment connected by thin wires to a small, light-colored button near the bottom left. A window in the reflection, reveals a glimpse of an urban cityscape outside. The windowpanes have several diagonal strips of masking tape across them, suggesting damage or a makeshift reinforcement. The cityscape seen beyond appears cold and wintry. Soviet artist Geliy "Geli" Mikhailovich Korzhev-Chuvelyov is hailed as a "painter of Russian grief." He studied at the Moscow State Art School from 1939 to 1944 and then at the Moscow State Art Institute until 1950. Korzhev entered the Soviet art scene at a time when the U.S.S.R. was recovering from World War II, and bidding farewell to Stalin’s grim legacy. A son of his era, Korzhev defined his style as “social realism” to eliminate the propagandistic posture, artificiality, and reality-bending politics of Stalinist-era art. His striking canvases focus on the common people, in an attempt to cleanse the varnish of propaganda and remind us of the "true" socialism, as he envisioned it.

Progress pics for my watercolour painting.

Using latex masking fluid helped me to be able to get a really even base colour without worrying about going over the lines and creating muddy colours.

A pencil sketch showing the initial composition layout with organic curved shapes of sand islands and rough outlines of figures in various resting poses. Early watercolor stage showing pale yellow sand islands with masked white areas against a light background. The basic shapes are established with initial washes. Further developed watercolor painting showing more defined sand islands in yellow with figures taking shape. The surrounding water begins to show turquoise tones and pattern work. Complete watercolor painting with vibrant turquoise water patterns surrounding yellow sand islands. The figures are fully detailed, showing people reading and relaxing. Sea life and water patterns add movement around the islands.

Five people are drawn in a green field of flowers and mushrooms. A figure on the left plays the violin while a person sits at their feet. On the right, there figures dance to the music of the violin . The music from the violin is illustrated as a rainbow with music notes twirling around the dancing figures. Words border the rainbow “connection, celebration and bodily autonomy” one persons shirt says “fair wages” and another persons shirt says care, not cops
