Alliances week: Soldevi Adnate is a really good card in a deck with artifact/black creatures to sac, making mana equal to the creature's mana value. That makes for a big turn, and generating a sac trigger or putting a body in the yard is an upside in a lot of decks.

Day 21 of posting a card that brings me joy in Commander.

I still vividly remember the splash ad for Alliances in the Duelist that featured this card. Sure it's restrictive but this card is sweet as heck.

The background audio and monochrome art fit well with the slightly melancholy/dream-world feel of the game. For a point-and-click adventure/puzzle the single mouse input is plenty, and that scheme works well for this game. The voice over is a nice touch and kept the music from lulling me to sleep. One thing I was a bit confused on is whether the GDD that's referenced is an item in the game itself, was the description below the game, or was the posted GDD on the GDrive. I'm not the greatest at puzzles, so I may have completely overlooked something, but not being certain about how to engage with a central component of the game was a bit frustrating. Aside from that confusion, I did find the experience compelling. You definitely got the feeling of a puzzle game correct. Even with the uncertainty about the GDD, the clues that I did interact with left me wanting to finish solving the puzzle. Great starting point that could easily turn into escaping from a haunted mansion. Good Job!

amongst the people of soldev some would lean a little harder into phyrexia's ideals than others, most notably the adnates. i include them specifically because the one with the artificial eye has always felt particularly haunting and unique to me
