We announced today on social media that our SOQIR study's NIH funding has been terminated--effective immediately. Given that NIH funds fully supported our research, we cannot continue our work until we secure more funding.

We wish it was an April Fool’s joke, but SOQIR’s funding has been cut—like so many other LGBTQ+ studies. Losing queer research means losing our stories, resources, and rights. We’re heartbroken, but our commitment to the community remains. Stay loud. Queer knowledge matters. #QueerResearchMatters

I feel like I will need to thank the participants from my SOQIR study for decades because their insights have inspired enough new research questions to keep me busy for quite some time.

💔 Leaving doesn’t always mean safety. Post-separation abuse is real — and it’s a tactic abusers use to keep control even after a breakup. At SOQIR, we stand with survivors and advocate for systems that protect rather than harm. 💜 #SOQIR #SupportSurvivors

🌈💜 At SOQIR, we know that abuse in LGBTQ+ relationships comes with unique barriers that can deepen isolation. We’re committed to amplifying these realities, supporting survivors, and pushing for resources that truly affirm queer lives. #SOQIR #SupportSurvivors

The SOQIR team knows that abuse isn’t always obvious — it can hide behind smiles and “loving” gestures. We stand with survivors, believing them, supporting them, and working toward a world free from control and harm. 💜 #SOQIR #SupportSurvivors
