Greek & Roman Studies at uOttawa is the ONLY program in Ontario where students can study Ancient Greek and Latin in French. The university just resuspended it. #SOSClassicsUO #ONfr #uOttawa buff.ly/UtgW0vq
A red outdoor sign for the University of Ottawa stands among green shrubs and bright red flowers. The sign displays the university’s logo—a stylized building with columns—alongside the text “Université d’Ottawa” and “uOttawa.”

People often forget how intertwined classical studies (and the arts and humanities) are with our everyday lives. It is from Classical Antiquity where we have inherited most if not all of our core beliefs, political institutions, philosophies, knowledge of science, and overall social edifices.

🚨 BREAKING: uOttawa has RE-SUSPENDED Greek & Roman Studies for 2026-27 just weeks after reinstating the programme. Seems to violate Ontario's regulation on designation. Department: "We are shocked at the willingness to ignore the interests of Franco-Ontarians." More soon. #SOSClassicsUO #ONfr
