I remember encountering a rikishi on the Sotetsu line, fitting perfectly on two seats while his tiny girlfriend stroked his shoulders. His face was quite stoic but I will never forget that beautiful, ornate kimono.

Sotetsu Fresa Inn are another good cheap chain, usually placed in similar locations to APA hotels (short walks from stations). They have some slightly more upmarket options too, but I've never tried those.
