This is what I really needed it for - to debug deterministic builds. I needed to see why is the assembly different even though nothing has changed. In this case it was SourceLink stamping the Git SHA into the embedded pdb.

At the same time, it annoys me that most free LLMs forget everything each session, so I ended up creating a note I'll just send each session that says things like: Always provide a #SourceLink.

debugging Release binaries is still painful, even with Pdb and SourceLink, but the debug package would have a different id, and I just don't see how to consume it. Probably easier to just build debug from source and replace the dll in the product for debugging.
