The yarn is in your box. Which sovcat are you today?
A grid of nine pictures with the title "which sovcat are you today?" The pictures are cats from various sovcat posters. The top row cats seem happy and hopeful, the middle row cats in distress, worried, or ill and the bottom row cats seem determined, critical, and angry.

The cat version was produced by the Federation of Anarchist Cats Artist Group. Notice the cats at the bottom holding a hammer and a catnip branch, a common motif in working cat visuals. It is the first anarchist sovcat poster I've archived.

Cosmonaut Joey (my old cat) still seeks that great red dot in the sky in one of my first sovcat posters - six years ago now! Time doesn't just fly, it soars and roars.

Education for All - Literacy for Liberation (2021) is another sovcat commission featuring a beautiful trio.
A cat poster in the style of a 1970's soviet propaganda poster. Three cats at the top of the image look down at a large open book in the center of the image. A sunrise with rays rises from the open book. Three paws in the bottom hold up the book, one from each cat. At bottom in bold text is written "Education For All!" There is a small logo that says "literacy for liberation."

The fourth sovcat poster based on an iconic, soviet WW2 poster. Remains popular because it is stunning and the message seems relevant: capitalism in crisis can turn to nationalism, authoritarianism, and violence to protect itself.
A cat poster based on a soviet World War 2 poster. A large, red cat on its hind legs fights a black snake that coils in the shape of a swastika. The cat looks victorious as it steps on the snakes tail and successfully slices at the snake with its claws. Below the image in bold text reads: "Defeat the Fascist Snake!"

My second sovcat poster "To the Litterbox of History" (2017) is based on an early period propaganda poster and plays on the phrase "Ash heap of history." #sovcat
A cat poster in the style of early Soviet Union propaganda. A cat (Lenin) stands on top of the globe sweeping away the forces of reaction and capitalism represented as cats wearing the garb of a priest, king, capitalist, and general. The characters look shocked and worried by this event. At the bottom is the slogan "To the litterbox of history" a play on the phrase "ash heap of history" famously used by Trotsky in 1917.

Newest artwork is complete! Workers Demand Justice and Peace because there is no lasting peace without justice at home and abroad. This sovcat poster is based on "We Want Peace" from 1950.
A cat poster in the style of a 1950's propaganda poster. A large, orange cat in worker overalls holds a huge red flag in one paw while the other sweeps away models of war machines from a table he looms over. Government officials and military officers sitting around the table are surprised, outraged, and scared. The slogan on the flag reads "Workers Demand Justice and Peace."

What better way to handle the Inktober day 3 prompt of "crown" than an antimonarchist sovcat cartoon from the post great war period. #inktober #inktober2025
A political cartoon drawn in ink entitled Expropriation in large fraktur font. On one side stands a cat king holding his crown out like a pauper. Text under him reads "daily pension 1670 CM. King pleads poverty." To the right are three cats, a veteran with a missing leg on crutches, a worker, and a mother cat with kitten. Below them reads "Under 2.35 wages and pension. Everything expropriated"
