BOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRING

give the romans spaceplanes
My hot take here is that it would be difficult to impossible to transplant a single distinct technology into a point in history. Most technologies are products of huge amounts of peripheral knowledge and long-developed modes of economic production.
What’s the simplest non-gun technology you could give the Romans that would still totally reshape the course of global history? I feel like telegraph would do it probably. Maybe steam trains.

Boeing can't even make airplanes anymore, expecting them to make spaceplanes is just mean.

Have you noticed that Bezos went up in his New Shepard rockets, and Branson went up in one of his Virgin Galactic spaceplanes, but Elon has never even considered going up in one of his capsules.

She can talk.

She can also run, shoot weapons, fly spaceplanes, and love her chosen family.

And she didn't violate billions of dollars in copyright to do it.

Apparently in space, no one can hear you tell them to put you down. The microgravity doesn't help my case much either... #TFTuesday

( #Octransfur Day 20 - Hybrid, a slightly self-indulgent piece for @wnitedragonite.bsky.social. Spaceplanes could be hybrids; spaceplanedragons are certainly hybrids~)

Basically, let spaceplanes just fly like planes in atmosphere, with weak thrusters, but wings allow to fly fast and by pointing their nose. Meanwhile, "brick" spaceships awkwardly and slowly flounder around, having to rely on thrusters that are less effective in atmosphere to fight gravity and drag.
