Did a minor facelift on Swift Token. Some under the hood stuff on the components improved mostly for dev experience and consistency. But also cleaned up some spacing, fonts, and got rid of the blue-ish tinted neutral which was starting to wear on me. Old on the left, new on the right.

I've been out of the industry for a few years, but I suspect that checking the legality of plates probably is only with reference to defined criteria (style, size, spacing), rather than whether they are camera-readable.

Ya it's my fault and also the fault of our maintenance guys who painted our parking spots an arbitrary spacing from the first bollard instead of just putting a line on every bollard and one between them. So several parking spots have a concrete pole where you have to load the rear of the truck.

I got 'failed' about 15 years ago because of the spacing between letters and numbers on the reg plate I had then. It probably also depends on how 'friendly' your local MOT testing station is!

A couple of thoughts:
(1) don't use filler / try to make it longer than it needs to be. Don't cram text in, either; use appropriate spacing
(2) a sentence that highlights the student's strengths in the opening paragraph, and a rephrasing in a summary paragraph, help to make information isn't lost.

Haha I had to copy edit a batch of calculus material just last week (experts had already checked the math, I was just going over spelling, spacing and layout) and this is an extremely accurate analogy!

Struggled to sleep, so this morning, I took my provisional wordlist (i need to shorten a fair number of them tbh) and had the English switch to marain words, the I used signed distance field morphing between the two fonts, trouble is the #Marain font is larger so had to interpolate spacing.
