I'm a fan of HP Lovecraft. I've read some Stephen King and while he's thought provoking I never thought of them as scary. I read the haunting of hill house after loving the Netflix show and found it to be kind of a let down. I'm not looking for gore or gross out, I'm looking more for Gothic horror or terror. Something that if I was reading at night in a thunderstorm I might be afraid to sleep with the lights off. I have yet to find this book. by spawnofcthulhu
